It’s time to revisit our annual Spiritual Goal study: This month, let’s ponder the part from the goal: “The purification of sense. . . ” The whole goal is from page 323 of Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy:
"Willingness to become as a little child and to leave the old for the new, renders thought receptive of the advanced idea. Gladness to leave the false landmarks and joy to see them disappear,--this disposition helps to precipitate the ultimate harmony. The purification of sense and self is a proof of progress. ‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.’ “
This thought is interesting to think about in the context of joyfully leaving a false matter based sense behind and replacing it with a true spiritual based view.
Feel free to share your understanding of and thoughts about this idea at a church service or on the blog at ChristianScienceFortCollins.com.
Thanks so much!
