It’s time to revisit our annual Spiritual Goal study: This month, let’s ponder the part from the goal: "Gladness to leave the false landmarks and joy to see them disappear,--this disposition helps to precipitate the ultimate harmony."
The whole goal is from page 323 of Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy:
"Willingness to become as a little child and to leave the old for the new, renders thought receptive of the advanced idea. Gladness to leave the false landmarks and joy to see them disappear,--this disposition helps to precipitate the ultimate harmony. The purification of sense and self is a proof of progress. ‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.’ “
One definition of “disposition”: a person's inherent qualities of mind and character.
Synonyms for “precipitate”:
bring about/on, cause, lead to, give to, rise, instigate, trigger, spark, touch off,,provoke, hasten, accelerate, expedite
Synonyms for “ultimate”:
eventual, final, concluding, terminal, end
Please share your understanding of and thoughts about this idea with us at a church service or on the blog at ChristianScienceFortCollins.com.
Thanks so much!
