This is a reminder from the Spiritual Goals Committee about our monthly topic of study and prayer for April:
For the month of April, we are focusing on how “One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations;. . .” from page 340 of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
After studying this week’s lesson sermon on Doctrine of Atonement, I wanted to share some thoughts I had on this topic.
First, the lesson helps us realize our own oneness with God, (“ Atonement is the exemplification of man’s unity with God, whereby man reflects divine Truth, Life, and Love.” p. 181)
Also, the lesson points out how everyone can see God since, “The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.” Isaiah 52:10 In Paul’s letter to Titus (chapter 2, verse 11), he says, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.”
Altogether, for men and nations, Mrs. Eddy says, “The scientific unity which exists between God and man must be wrought out in life-practice, and God’s will must be universally done.” P. 202
What an inspiration to know that as Mary Baker Eddy says, “This Christ, or divinity of the man Jesus was his divine nature, the godliness which animated him.” P. 26, that the same Christ is animating each of us-- all of His divine ideas.
